Letter from Joel Singer to Bill Judson (10/01/1985)

October 1, 1985
Dear Bill,
Once again it is time for Guggenheim applications to he submitted and once again I would like you to

write me a letter of recommendation.
I have been working on a series of nude portraits of men and women telling of experiences in their

lives in which they felt most exposed other than the experience of being filmed in the nude.
James and I are just back after spending a year in Europe. We had gone with the intention of staying

indefinitely, perhaps to settle, but it got old rather quickly and we returned to resettle in San

Francisco.
I imagine that in a year or a year and a half I will have filmed dozens of subjects and will be ready

to travel across the country with them.
Best regards
,
Joel Singer
