Letter from Sally Dixon to Edward Norian of Presbyterian University Hospital (2/1/1971)

February 1, 1971
Mr. Edward Norian, Director Presbyterian - University Hospital 230 Lothrop
Pittsburgh, Pa. 15213 Dear Mr. Norian
How good to talk with you this morning about having (Stan Brakhage shoot some footage at Presbyterian-University for his film on hospitals - We are delighted that you can take part in this venture!
Mr. Brakhage would like the freedom to film whatever seems pertinent to him, within the bounds of your necessary restrictions, during his two week stay in Pittsburgh from February 13-27. You of course may see the finished film or footage before it is released.
He will not be filming with any particular editorial point of view but will rather let the content of the film reveal itself as events unfold, the objective but fueling eye-!
This is a marvelous opportunity for him, and for Pittsburgh, which is rapidly coming to be known among the film makers as The city providing the freedom and opportunity in which the artist can create.
I'm delighted that we can play such a part, and trust that it will be a rewarding experience for all concerned.
Thank you so very much for your help and cooperation.
Most Sincerely,
Sally F. Dixon (Mrs.) Coordinator of Films
