Leonard Pearson, Phd. Professor of Psychology California State College
Dear Dr. Pearson:
I’m sorry to take so long in answering your letter, I have been away.
Brakhages film "The Act of Seeing With One’s Own lyes” is available from:
Audio Brandon Films 34 MacQueaten Parkway South Mount Vernon, N.Y. 10550 (914) 664-5051
It is in color, 32 minutes long, silent and rents for $35.00.
How interesting that you picked up on that film. It is one part of a trilogy he shot here - a progressive confrontation with death. The first, shot from 2 days and nights of riding in a police squad car, and the second in Western Pennsylvania Hospital which includes open heart surgery.
A seminar is being planned here at Western Psychiatric Hospital utilising these films also.
How encouraging to know that the special abilities of the artist are beginning to be utilised more broadly.
Sincerely,
Sally F. Dixon Curator, Film Section
